As Christians or followers of Christ, we can have – we must have absolute confidence in our Savior-Shepherd. In Hebrews 13:5-6 we read, “Let your conduct be without covetousness, be content with such things as you have for, He Himself has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.: So, we may boldly say “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can men do to me?”
Consider the commitment Christ has made to us —
“I will never leave you, nor forsake you.”
This statement could also read:
“I will never, never leave you:
I will never, never forsake you.”
That is actually the force of what He said. Really think about it. Chew on it. Believe it. He is trustworthy.
Now, because of what He said, we can BOLDLY DECLARE
“The LORD is my helper, and I will not fear.” What can man do to me?”
SHHH – Don’t say that too loudly. Some who hear you make a bold statement like that may think you are a crackpot or overly zealous for your faith. That would never do. Rest assured that the real force trying to hush you is the adversary himself. He doesn’t want you to show too much zeal for the LORD.
Well, I for one am glad we have something — well more than that – Someone, Jesus Christ to BOLDLY DECLARE! Years ago, when I was in China, I was the guest in the home of an elderly couple who had been in prison for their faith – he for 23 years and she, 18 years. During the visit, he began to raise his voice a bit. His dear wife went over to him and evidently whispered that he should be quieter. At that point, he raised his voice and declared “I will not be quiet. I am ready right now to go back to prison, but I will not be silent about my Savior!” He had a relationship to BOLDLY DECLARE!
Don’t forget folks – Jesus Christ has promised “I will never, never leave you! I will never, never forsake you!” He is absolute Truth. His promise is better than any investment you have. If we doubt the promise, our LORD has made, we dishonor Him. Remember what you read, “He, Jesus Christ has said … “He is the One who spoke creation into existence. He is the One who on the cross declared “It is finished!” His mission was accomplished. He gave His very life to redeem us from death, the penalty for our sin, and to give us the gift of eternal life.
In the promise He made, He said “I will never leave you.” The Greek word used here for ‘leave’ means “I will never let you go!” How good is that!
The next word – ‘forsake’ means that God will “never abandon or desert us.” He will never let us go and He will never give us up Do you feel a boldness beginning to rise in your soul that your mouth is ready to BOLDLY DECLARE – “My God is faithful! I can count on Him! He will never, never leave me! He will never, never forsake me!”
Dear ones, if you can read what I have just shared and not be overwhelmed with the magnitude of His promise, you should check your pulse – you may have expired. On the other hand, if you believe what He said – Boldly Declare it!
Glory to His Name,
Pastor Leonard
