ANNOUNCEMENTS & EVENTS
1. What a Great Evening We Experienced last Tuesday. We learned much about the National Police Dog Foundation. We learned much about the role of the K-9s in law enforcement. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner. I’m thinking that some may still want to contribute toward the purchase of another dog. If you do, make your check out to the National Police Dog Foundation.
2. What will you say when you stand before Jesus at the Judgment Seat of Christ?
In Matthew 28:18-20, we have what has come to be known as the Great Commission. Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
· This commission has been given to every born-again Christian … not just pastors, missionaries or Sunday School teachers or chaplains.
· Christ has commissioned each of us to go and represent Him to people who are perishing spiritually.
As pastor, I want to help you fulfill this commission. In recent years, there have been three “God Is Not Dead” movies produced. They are powerful. We will be showing them in August, September and October. The first is Sunday, August 11th at 5 PM. We are asking you to pray about the showing of each movie.
Also, ask the Holy Spirit to show you who you should invite and bring with you to these showings. Pray that as they come, they will receive Christ as Savior and LORD.
3. Our next Baptism service will be Sunday, September 15th at 11:30 AM. Have you received Christ? If you have, He asks you to publicly acknowledge that relationship by believer’s baptism. The forms are at the Information Table. Pick one up, complete it and get it back to the church office right away.
4. Also at the Information Table, there are church membership application forms and a paper on “Why Join a Church?” If you are a born-again Christian, we hope you will pray about becoming a member of VJF.
5. Put this on your calendar – our next prayer gathering for our nation, Wednesday, August 7th at 6 PM. Surely there can be no doubt that our nation is in trouble. We must intercede for our nation.
6. Men – Let’s Go Fishing, August 20-21, — we leave Tuesday evening and come back late Wednesday afternoon. See Don Fromberg for details.
7. Would you like to have lunch or dinner with one of our missionaries? See Don and Sandy Fromberg at the Information Table to make arrangements.
8. Get ready to fill one or more shoe-boxes for an under-privileged child in another country. This program has been carried on by Samaritan’s Purse for many years and many thousands of boxes are distributed each Christmas. Watch for more details in the next couple of weeks.
