1. This Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent. We hope you can be present to be a part of the service, “The Light of Hope”. We will also have a time of communion and anointing with oil.
2. On Sunday, December 10th, in both services, Pastor Sherrow, the choir, and the orchestra will present the musical “What a Wonderful Child.” JoyBells will be ringing in too! This is a great time to invite family and friends to come with you.
3. Our annual Christmas dinner will be on Friday, December 15th at 6 PM. We will have honey-baked ham with all the side dishes. Our program will feature the music of Robert and Jackie Malone. Cost for the dinner is $15. Please get your tickets right away. In one Sunday’s time, they are almost half gone.
4. Christmas Eve falls on Sunday, December 24th. That day we will just have one morning service at 10 AM. Then at 4 PM, we will have a candlelight service. Both of these services will be very special so be sure to invite others.
5. Last week we said that if it didn’t make a difference to you, maybe some of you in the 10 AM service could come to the 11:30 AM service. Folks, if 11:30 AM doesn’t work for you, then by all means come at 10 AM. We don’t want you to stay home. Every Sunday this month will be great.
6. Ladies — your group will meet this Wednesday at 9:30 for fellowship time and 10 AM for opening song time. We will continue in our Romans study.
7. Men — we will meet this Thursday at 6 AM, as usual. Come prepared to enjoy a great breakfast, wonderful fellowship; great worship, and a time in the Word. A donation of $5 will help cover the meal.
8. This past Sunday was such a great day with the Teen Challenge Ladies Choir, in our church. Their songs and testimonies were wonderful. Thank you so much for your love offering of over $5,500! What a privilege to partner with a ministry that sees so many changed lives.
9. A Must Read Book — For those who have experienced loss, this book, “A Grace Disguised Revised and Expanded: How the Soul Grows through Loss” by Dr. Jerry L. Sittser. Several years ago a drunk driver hit them head-on; his wife, one child, and his mother were all killed. He does an amazing job of walking you through his journey with sorrow. He is so honest about his own feelings.
10. THANK YOU to our faithful, creative, artistic Christmas decorators. The worship center, along with the foyer looks beautiful. What a joy it is to celebrate Jesus’ birthday in our church home.
