1. This Sunday, Pastor Leonard will be answering the question “Why?” People frequently ask “If God is so good, why do bad things happen to good people?” We will explore that subject together.
2. Women’s Bible Study will continue in the book of Proverbs. Come at 9:30 for fellowship and song-time starts at 10. This week they will continue with Proverbs 1-3. If you do not have a book, please call the Church Office for assistance.
3. Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study, Thursdays at 6 AM. It will be our privilege to have Tim Kanter, a new member of the staff of the Western District of the Missionary Church (also known as Vinia). Tim is the Director of Vinia Engagement.
4. Our first luncheon of the New Year will be Tuesday, January 16th, at noon. We will feature the services of Care Patrol. They assist in finding suitable care when someone can no longer stay home. The information they offer will be beneficial. Cost for the luncheon is $10.
5. Our 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off will be Friday, February 16th at 5 PM. If you want to enter your amazing chili, in the cook-off, be sure to sign up, right away. There are only 2 spots open. You can call the Church Office at 805-535-4325.
6. A note from Nancy … “I have been hearing from those who love doing the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and that clearance sales abound. Now is the time to get toys and supplies at dramatically reduced prices!”
7. We continue to welcome new members to Jubilee. If you have not joined our fellowship, I encourage you to consider church membership. We will have a class soon; however, if you plan to join, please complete a Membership Application Form. They are available at the Welcome Center.
8. We have a few folks who are ready to be baptized. Scripture is very clear that this is what Jesus asked us to do … to make a public statement of our decision to follow the LORD. You may have been saved several years ago, but it is not too late to be baptized. If you are interested, you can pick up an application form at the Welcome Center.
