1. CLEANING DAY, scheduled for Monday, March 11th, has been POSTPONED until THURSDAY, March 21, from 9 – 11 AM. We encourage you to come out and help sparkle up our church for Sunday services.
2. Hey everybody – next Sunday is the time for the time change. Set your clocks ahead one hour. You don’t have to lose sleep. Just go to bed earlier. Don’t use the lack of sleep as an excuse for not being at church next Sunday. Admit it – you are letting your body rule. Honor God – get up, get ready to be in church on time.
3. Sign up for our March 12th luncheon this week! We will take reservations up to Friday, March 8th. Sam Huestis, our attorney, will be with us to share about estate planning. This is important. When my brother-in-law died last year, he left a will. For some reason, the estate had to go through probate. My sister did not get anything like she had anticipated. Cost of the luncheon is $10. 4. Movie Night is this Friday, March 8th, at 6 PM. We will show the movie “The Hill.” Plan to bring snacks to share with others and YES, invite others.
5. It’s not too late to join the JoyBell’s (hand-bell choir) as they prepare for upcoming performances. The next practice is Tuesday, March 12th at 2 PM. Contact the office or Irene Abbey if interested.
6. Men’s Breakfast & Bible Study is every Thursday at 6 AM. Starting this week, Pastor Leonard will begin an ongoing study on the life of Abraham. We hope you can be present. A donation of $5 for an amazing breakfast is appreciated.
7. Women’s Bible Study (WBS) continues in the book of Proverbs. You are welcome to join in. Ladies meet for fellowship at 9:30 AM and worship starts at 10 AM followed by breakout groups. If you are joining us for the first time, please come to the welcome center for further information.
8. Church Membership – this year we have three membership classes. We just had one. The next one will be held in June and the last one in October. You can turn in your Membership Application any time and, we hope you will. That gives Pastor Leonard more time to meet with you before the class.
9. Fun Times … Ladies’ Bunco Night is scheduled for Monday, March 18th at 6 PM. Sign up on Sunday or call the office if you would like to attend. There is no fee for this FUN evening.
10. The Grief Support Group will meet next Tuesday, March 12, at 4 PM. If you are experiencing loss of any kind, you are welcome to come and share, under the leadership of Certified Grief Counselor, Paul Lenderman.
11. To our church families. We have several members who are now in long-term care facilities. Due to their absence, it is easy to lose contact with them. Please keep the pastors or the church office aware of their whereabouts and any needs they might have. We want to stay in touch with all of our church family.
12. Did you know that Richard Abbey has started a new series in his Bible Alive Class? You are welcome to come at 8:45 AM on Sunday mornings for his study of Ephesians. Feel free to join any time; they meet in the “Eagle’s Nest” … down the long hallway.
