1. WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY RESUMES. This Wednesday, June 12, our Summer WBS Session kicks off. Our study resource is Amir Tsarfati’s book, ISRAEL, and the CHURCH. Coffee will be on at 9:45 AM, and small groups begin promptly at 10 AM.
2. NEW MEMBERS WELCOMED. Last Sunday, June 9, we welcomed a great group of new members to VJF: Mary Ellen Faulds, George and Debra Hill, Stella McClatchy, Mimi Perez, Clarey and Debby Rudd, Lucinda Vasquez and Paul White.
3. CAN YOU HELP? One of our church family members is getting out of acute care rehab, and most likely she’ll need help when she is home. If you are looking for a few hours a week (pay is available) or know of someone available to assist this dear lady, contact the VJF office or Pastor Leonard.
4. PLEDGE 2 PRAY. Please commit to praying for one or more of our missionaries for the year. They encounter many situations as they reach people with the good news of Jesus Christ, and certainly need our support through prayer. Prayer makes a huge difference in circumstances and people’s lives. NOW through June 30, you can sign up and PLEDGE 2 PRAY.
5. MEN’S BREAKFAST & BIBLE STUDY. Every Thursday at 6 AM. We have been discovering lessons for us from the life of Abraham. Come and join us (even if you don’t have breakfast. Do Bible study.)
6. MOVIE NIGHT – FRIDAY, JUNE 21 @ 6 PM. Come, bring a friend and snacks to share. Our feature will be TRUTH BE TOLD, starring David James Elliott and Candace Cameron Bure. This wonderful story plays upon the proverbial saying, “Honesty is the best policy.”
7. CHURCH DIRECTORY. Our VJF Church Directory will be hot off the press on June 23. We want EVERYONE – members and attendees – to be included in the directory. It’s a wonderful way for us to connect with and get to know each other. If you did not submit your contact info and would like to, THERE’S STILL TIME. Simply complete the GREEN Directory Update Card and give it to the church office. It also is still possible to provide a photo.
8. FATHER’S DAY IS JUNE 16. We will have a special gift for each man present. We thank God for you and want to honor you.
9. PRESTO PASTA FUNDRAISER. Sponsored by our VJF Women’s Ministry. Proceeds from the Fundraiser will be used to bless our missionary wives at this summer’s Missions Conference 2024!!
10. EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN CONFERENCE. The 2024 Have Faith Tour is coming to Westlake in September. A group of VJF ladies will be attending this 2-day conference, with a great team of speakers and performers, for spiritual refreshment and sweet fellowship. The cost is $165 for the 2-day conference, overnight hotel, and a Saturday box lunch. We only have 9 spaces left!!! $50 holds your spot. Contact the church office to RSVP. Promises to be one of the best weekends of the year as we draw closer to God’s heart – TOGETHER!!!!
11. GRIEF SUPPORT. Have you experienced some loss in your life this year, or in the past that you are still grieving over? Rev. Paul Lenderman is a certified grief counselor. He holds grief group at VJF on the second Tuesday of each month at 4 PM. We encourage you to attend.
12. PRAY FOR ISRAEL. Be sure to pray for Israel and the war they have been engaged in since the horrific attack on October 7th. Much of the world has turned on them. But God hasn’t and neither should we. It is interesting that Mexico, predominantly Catholic, has elected its first women president, Claudia Sheinbaum, who is Jewish. I believe the Jewish people are more open today to learning about Jesus than ever before. A book I highly recommend you give to Jewish people is “Isaiah 53 Explained” by Jewish author Mitch Glaser.
13. ERNI MANSI MEMORIAL. The memorial service for Erni Mansi will be on Saturday, June 29 at 10 AM at REALITY CHURCH, 1954 Goodyear, Ventura. Continue to keep Marilyn and the family in your prayers.
