1. Attention all men – This Thursday, at 6 AM, we will start a 6-week video series on the Holy Spirit at our Men’s Breakfast & Bible Study. The series is presented by Dr. David Jeremiah. I want to encourage all of our men to attend.
2. Women’s Bible Study will continue in the book of Proverbs. It is a great series and the excitement is running high. At 9:30 there is a time of fellowship along with snacks. The worship/study begins at 10 AM. You are welcome to join. Call the office if you need a study book.
3. Our 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off is Friday, February 16th at 5 PM. We now have our contestants signed up… so now, all we need are the participants — that’s YOU! Reservations can be made this Sunday. The cost is $10. (You don’t eat chili?? No Worries! We will also have soup available.)
4. Extra, Extra! A new movie is coming out in August titled “The Firing Squad.” A few churches are being allowed to have a preview of the movie for free. It is the true story of Christians who have faced a firing squad because of their faith in Jesus Christ. We will show it at Jubilee on Friday, February 9th at 6 PM. Children 12 and under should not attend. Pass the word, this is a great opportunity for us to fill every seat in our worship center.
5. Membership – We would like to have a Membership Class later this month. We currently have folks interested in membership and want to allow you to join in. Pick up a Membership Application Form at the Welcome Center and turn it into the Church Office at your earliest convenience.
6. Believer’s Baptism – We have someone who wants to be baptized as soon as possible. Have you been baptized as a testimony of your faith in Christ? Baptism forms are at the Welcome Center. Complete one and turn it in right away if you wish to be baptized.
7. Just a reminder that if you want a copy of my first book titled “Jehovah-Jireh” (God who provides) you need to ask me personally. It is a book of answers to prayer and how God has met our needs over the years. The book is out of print, so I want to give it to just those who will read it.
8. Let me encourage you to regularly visit our website to view all kinds of information about what is happening at Jubilee. Be sure to go to our missions page and read newsletters from our missionaries (hard copies are available at the “Missionary Wall” in the foyer) and a host of other information.
9. Movie Night – Friday, January 19 at 6 PM. Come see “A Million Miles Away,” a biographical movie about Jose Hernandez and his path from a farm worker to becoming an engineer and an astronaut. It is a tale of perseverance, community, and sacrifice to accomplish a seemingly impossible dream. Bring your favorite snack to share.
