1. The CHILI COOK-OFF will be this Friday, 01/27 at 5 PM. Currently, we have a “full wagon train” but if you are interested in coming, call the office to be put on the waiting list, we may have room. If your plans have changed, and you can no longer come, please call the office to have your reservation canceled. $5 donation. A GREAT evening is planned!
2. Grief Support Group meets TODAY AT 4 pm. Join Certified Grief Counselor Paul Lenderman for an hour of sharing and support. If you have experienced any kind of loss, this is for you.
3. Don’t forget, our “Noon Prayer Time” meets at 11 AM each Thursday. We are guided through the prayer needs of our people, the church, our government, and more. “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you…” Matt 7:7
4. The Jubilee Women’s Bible Study has started a new study on the book of Hebrews. We still have a few study books available ($15). Note the new time, 9:30 AM, which allows for fellowship and snacks prior to the opening session.
5. The Deaconess Meeting has been postponed until Thursday, February 2nd at 9:30 AM.
6. We have two openings for Vesper helpers. Vespers is an afternoon church for residents in Assisted Living Facilities. The duties range from song leaders, pianists, greeters/assistants, to teachers/pastors. The commitment is typically once a month for one hour. If you feel God calling you to get involved in a ministry, contact Nancy Drake, at 805-340-4393 … you are guaranteed to be blessed.
7. Update on our missionaries, the Saunes. Due to health issues and their inability to visit us earlier this month, the current plan is that Joshua and Missy will visit Jubilee later in the summer.
8. If you are expecting a Jubilee tax receipt letter, please come to the Welcome Center, this Sunday, to pick up your letter. Any that are not picked up will be mailed. We hope you will help with this postage-saving procedure. Thank you.
9. You are welcome to join a Bible Alive class anytime. Classes begin at 8:45 AM, each Sunday morning. Our teachers, Pastor Jim, Richard Abbey, Bill Abeyta, and Rev. Pam Merillat all have different studies. Some are books of the Bible and some are subjects in the Bible. Contact the office or a teacher for further information.
