1. Ministry Team Survey – A BIG thank you to all of you who have completed your service survey form. It’s never too late to turn yours in.
We still need more drivers. We have people who need rides to their doctor, dentist, and to church. If you could help, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the office or complete a Ministry Team Survey and check off “Helping Hands.”
2. Remember Chuck Dahl in prayer. His dear wife, Rosalee went to be with Jesus this past Sunday.
3. Thursday, May 2nd is the National Day of Prayer. Years ago, the Pacific Garden Mission always ended their program with “More things are accomplished through prayers than this world dreams of.” In Jeremiah 33:3 we read, “Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” We have much to pray about. Please stop from time to time, during the day, and pray for your family, the country, Israel, and your personal needs.
4. A memorial service for Marie Nicely will be on Friday, May 24th in the morning. Specific time forthcoming. It will be here at Jubilee. Keep Greg and their family in your prayers.
5. The Women’s Ministry sponsored a CEF Action Bible New Testament Fundraiser, during April. The goal was to raise enough money to purchase 300 New Testaments; however, enough came in to purchase 431 New Testaments. THANK YOU, JUBILEE!
6. Women’s Bible Study – The summer session will begin on June 12th. The study: “Israel and the Church” by Amir Tsarfati is now available. You can purchase BOTH the book and study guide for only $10, while supplies last. See Kathi Hammond.
7. Church Membership – Our next Membership Class will be Sunday, June 2nd, right after the 2nd service. A light lunch will be served. Membership application forms are available at the Welcome Center. Once you have completed the form, turn it in to the church office. Turning them in early will give Pastor Leonard time to review them and meet with you. We would love to have you join.
Also, if you have never been baptized, by immersion, and wish to do so, please complete a Baptism Application form. They are available at the Information Table.
8. Men, you won’t want to miss Pastor Leonard’s meditation “Walking with God.” Come Thursday to hear Pastor Leonard’s Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study message. 6 AM for a hearty breakfast and fellowship. A $5 donation is requested.
9. Ventura County Christian School is having a fundraiser “Auction on the Water.” Thursday, May 9, 5:30 – 8:00 PM at The Greek Restaurant. Hors D’Oeuvres, Raffle, Silent Auction, Live Auction. For further information: [email protected]
10. We will be printing our mid-year Picture Directory in June. It helps staff and all our people to see YOUR picture in the directory. You do not have to be a church member to be in the directory. If you would like to do this or have a picture re-take, plan to come between services on May 19th or 26th. Pictures will be taken in the church library/conference room. OR if your personal information has changed, such as address or phone, PLEASE complete a green directory card and leave it at the Welcome Center.
11. Don’t forget about our Missions Display Center, directly across from the Welcome Center. There you will find information brochures and pamphlets about the missionaries we serve … both foreign and local. This is a perfect time to brush up on who these folks are and where they serve, as we prepare for our August Missions Conference. Help yourself and just know, they are updated regularly. A big thank you to Carol Davis for making this so easily accessible to all of us.
12. Some of you might want to send Vandy Lee a “sunshine card”. She had a fall about 4 weeks ago and is in a care facility. Her address is 1400 W. Gonzales Rd., Rm. 25, Oxnard, CA 93036
13. Attention all bargain shoppers … we heard that CVS was having a sale on many items that you might add to your Operation Christmas Child shoe box. It’s never too early!
