AUGUST – MISSIONS EMPHASIS MONTH
August is going to be an amazing month at VJF, with a variety of very gifted missionaries who will help us understand the importance of our support – prayerfully and financially.
- This Sunday, August 18 – we will have missionary Jim Harmeling of Shepherds International (son of Dr. Mark & Miriam Harmeling) will be with us. For years Jim has pastored an int’l church in Singapore, as well as trained pastors and church leaders in other countries in evangelism and biblical interpretation. He is a gifted communicator.
- Sunday, August 25 – Our Missions Conference Week begins! Three couples will be with us – Walkers (New Zealand), Abrmans (Slovakia) and Saunes (Peru).
- Friday, August 30 at 6 PM – Plan to attend our All-Church Missions Banquet, at which time we will receive what you believe God has put on your heart to give towards our $110,000. We are trusting God to reach this goal. To date, we have reached 49% of our goal.
ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING – September 15, 2024
- Our ACM will be on Sunday, September 15. There will be ONE SERVICE at 10 AM. Shortly after the service, we will go right into our annual business meeting. We want all our members and regular attendees to be present for both the service AND the meeting.
- We will elect church leadership for the next two years.
- Also, for your consideration will be a pastoral succession plan for when Pastor Leonard retires, or God calls him home.

- A book that Pastor Leonard recommends is “Letter to the American Church”, by Eric Metaxas. He says the reason that our country is in the condition it is, is because the American church is much like the German church was in 1930 and because they didn’t stand and speak up against what they saw going on. Hitler came to power and we know what happened then.
MEN’S BREAKFAST & BIBLE STUDY – Thursdays, 6-7 AM
- A word for our men — Pastor Leonard will be doing several lessons on the Need for Revival, that originates with God. The churches in America desperately need a heaven-sent revival. Join us at 6 AM on Thursdays for breakfast, worship, and time in the word.
GRANDS DAY! BRUNCH – Saturday, September 14 @ 10 AM
- Grandparents – you are a blessing to your grand and great-grandchildren! To celebrate this special God-given relationship, plan to bring your grand and great-grandkids to our first-ever mid-morning GRANDS DAY! Brunch. All Grands are welcome; however, the morning’s program will focus on K-5 age children. Watch for more details.
WOMEN’S HAVE FAITH CONFERENCE – September 20-21, 2024
- VJF women are heading to Calvary Community Church, Westlake, for a wonderful 2-day weekend TOGETHER of spiritual refreshment and fellowship with other girlfriends in Christ!! Ladies, this terrific event features fantastic speakers, worship leaders, and performers. The cost is $165 – a great deal for what you receive: the 2-day conference, overnight hotel, and a Saturday box lunch. VENTURA COUNTY PREGNANCY CENTER BANQUET – October 10, 2024

- The Teen Challenge Ladies Choir will be our guests for both services. You’ll be very blessed as you hear their songs and testimonies of deliverance from various addictions.

- Plan to attend our ALL-Church Christmas Dinner! Our special guests that night will be the exceptionally talented saxophonist and worship leader, Tim Kirschenmann and friends.
