1. Attention All Men – We don’t want you to miss out on the Men’s Breakfast & Bible Study this Thursday at 6 AM. We will have good food, good worship time, and the opportunity to really get to know three of our missionaries – Ryder Kumar of India; Esteban Alvarez of Uruguay; and, Olu Adefope with Child Evangelism Fellowship. If you don’t normally attend, please let the office know you are coming so that we have plenty of food.
2. Annual Meeting of the Members is on Sunday, Sept. 17th, 20 minutes after the first service. There will only be one service that day at 10 AM. It is very important for members to be present for the business meeting so that we have a strong quorum to handle the business of the church. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, but only members will be able to vote.
3. This Week is our Missions Conference. We have something special every day and it will end Friday evening with a wonderful dinner, games, and Olu Adefope, Director of Child Evangelism Fellowship sharing. At the dinner, we will share what the total Missions giving has been for Impact 2023, in July and August. It is truly going to be a celebration. The cost of the dinner is $10. Call the office to see if there is still room.
4. Be sure this is on your calendar — a wonderful Bible Conference with Dr. Robert Morgan. He is an amazing Bible teacher. He also has a great sense of humor. He will speak Friday evening at 6 PM, Saturday morning there will be three sessions between 9 & 12 noon. On Sunday he will speak in both services with a different message in each service. We hope you will attend both services. Please tell your friends about this conference and encourage them to attend.
5. Another must — on Friday, October 27th at 6 PM, we will have our first BBQ & Harvest Festival. Remember how much fun we had at the Chili Cook-Off? Well, this is going to be just as great. There will be a BBQ Meat Buffet, plus side dishes and desserts. The program will be Christian Comedian, Robert G. Lee. This is the kind of event you can invite your non-Christian friends to. We all need to laugh and we assure you, our program will make that possible!
6. If you are a born-again Christian, we would love to have you become an official member of Jubilee. Many times, when we are doing business with banks and other businesses, they want to know what our membership count is. They want to know how many people are really committed to the church. Membership application forms are at the Welcome Center. Complete one and return it to the church office. We will contact you once we have the form.
7. Just a reminder — from time to time we spend money on advertising. Usually, it is KDAR or the Breeze. We do it because we want to let the community know that we are here. It does bear some fruit … BUT, the best advertisement for Jubilee is you, the people. Can you imagine what would happen if each of us brought one new person who decided to make Jubilee their church home? Ask the Lord to put that person on your heart.
8. Just a word about the special service this Wednesday at 7 PM. As part of Impact 2023, it is a special outreach to the Hispanic community. Pastor Lupe’s church has been invited. Esteban Alvarez, BBFI missionary to Uruguay will be preaching in Spanish. Everyone is welcome to attend, but it is NOT a bilingual service.
9. Save the date — the Friday Night movie scheduled for Sept. 15th is “Saved by Grace.” Mark your calendars!
10. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! We are no longer collecting pill bottles for Operation Christmas Child. We also have no place to store bottles for next year, so … please do not bring any more pill bottles to church for this year’s OCC shoe boxes. Thanks again!!
