1. Ladies, October 4th is nearly here! There is still time to register for the fall Women’s Bible Study. You can register for the class and purchase the Study book at the Café Counter on Sunday morning. “Romans, Live with Clarity” is an 8-session study guide and will be available for $15.
2. Men’s Breakfast & Bible Study – This Thursday at 6 AM a wonderful group of men will meet for fellowship, a time in the Word, and great food. Last Thursday, two new men showed up. We have room for many more. Men need fellowship with other men.
3. Jubilee’s first Harvest BBQ is going to be an evening of fine food, fabulous fellowship, and laughable entertainment! Oh yes, and crafty, creative, ingenious pumpkins! Don’t miss this opportunity to pick up your pumpkin and decorate it for the table centerpieces and enter the contest! It is going to be a fun … that is, FUN evening!! To top it off, we will be entertained by comedian Robert G. Lee, a highly acclaimed Christian comedian. Tickets are now on sale, $15 for a plate of scrumptious BBQ beef, chicken, and/or pork! And, all the sides!
4. For those of you who have physical disabilities or health issues, we would encourage you to attend our 11:30 AM service on Sunday mornings. The smaller crowd may make it easier and more comfortable for you. The services are identical and you will be blessed.
5. Church Membership … if you have decided to make Ventura Jubilee Fellowship your church home, why not take the next step and become a member? Membership forms are at the Welcome Center. Take one, fill it out, and return it to the church office and one of the pastors will contact you.
6. Starting THIS SUNDAY, OCT. 1st, we will start taking pictures for our church pictorial directory. We will do this during the month of October. Come to the Conference/Library Room, BETWEEN SERVICES, and you can have a new picture or an updated photo taken. We really appreciate seeing your pictures in the directory … we all find it helpful to put a name to a face.
7. Our Sunshine Team is coming together nicely. It is a great opportunity to serve, by sending greeting cards to folks with birthdays, get-well, etc. We will provide the cards and the postage. You can do all of this in the comfort of your home. If you are interested in serving on this team, please call the church office at 805-535-4325. We just need a few more folks.
8. Operation Christmas Child is in full swing! Boxes are ready, along with instructions, in the back of the sanctuary. Your contribution to this very worthy ministry makes a difference in the lives of the children and their families! Please take a box and pray over it as you fill it with “joy” for a child who you may meet in heaven, someday.
9. Have you noticed …fall is in the air! Thank you to Phil and Kathi Hammond for the beautiful fall landscape of colorful mums, out front. They truly beautify our church.
10. This Sunday, Oct. 1st, we will observe communion and also give you the opportunity for anointing. Are you in the need for renewal … physically? Spiritually? This is a Sunday you won’t want to miss. Pastor Jim’s sermon title is “Come and Talk with Me” … come and be blessed.
11. Just a short reminder: the Jubilee Grief Support Group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Next meeting – October 10th at 4 PM. Come join in for a time of sharing under the direction of Certified Grief Counselor, Paul Lenderman.
