Warmest greetings to all who receive our “Jubilee Weekly.” 2024 has been an amazing year for our Jubilee Church. We had so many exciting events that were well attended and a blessing to all.
The 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off was a huge success. Our Women’s Ministry held several Bible Studies during the year. The attendance was excellent and the enthusiasm for what was being studied was wonderful. We took in many new members during the year and they are already serving in different roles in the church. We have a large majority of our people who have volunteered to serve the Lord wherever they are needed.
I felt that in 2024 we needed to do something special for our people in leadership, so we hosted a dinner at the Black Bear Diner. Dr. Barry Stagner, pastor of Calvary Central, was our guest speaker. He did a super job both challenging and encouraging us.
Pastor Mike Sherrow and our music people blessed us with special musicals for Easter, July 4th, and Christmas. The presence of the Lord was easily recognized and experienced. He is so creative and always so worshipful in what he produces.
We had the most amazing Missions’ Emphasis and Conference. We wanted to raise $110,000 to help support our National and International missionaries and local partners. We were almost delirious with joy when the total was $134,494! You can imagine the joy our missionaries and local partners experienced when they received those special checks.
We held our second Harvest BBQ in October. We had about five different kinds of meat plus all the fixings to round out the meal. Robert G. Lee, a Christian comedian was at his best that night and there was so much laughter.
We have a great number of Veterans in our church. On November 12th, we put on a special luncheon for them and their wives. We also remembered those who were no longer with us with the Honor Guard presenting the colors. The Chaplain from the Seabee Base was our special guest. In the end, we gave roses to the wives and a special book of meditations to the veterans. They really felt honored and I am so glad we took the time to honor them.
Now that we are heading into Christmas, we are looking forward to our annual Christmas dinner on the 13th. The program features professional saxophone player Tim Kirschmanne and several musicians he is bringing with him. It’s another “sold-out” event.
I am so grateful for Pastor Jim, Pastor Sherrow, and the rest of the team… Joan, Pam, and Lesley. We join in praying that you will have the most blessed Christmas as you celebrate the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
On behalf of the staff;
Pastor Jim, Pastor Mike, Joan Parks, Pam Merillat, and Lesley Knudsen-DeWitt,
Merry Christmas, Pastor Leonard
