Jubilee encourages the daily study of God’s Word. It’s a 100% guarantee of your investment in time and study. It is never too late to start your daily reading program. 2023 Bible Reading Guides are available on the Information Table. You will find this a helpful tool to track your reading and as a source of encouragement as you check off each reading. You may also peruse our church library for Bible study resources. Many of the books will help as you focus on a particular Bible book or subject. The library is open before and between services.
6 REASONS FOR BIBLE KNOWLEDGE
(Chuck Swindoll)
1. It gives substance to my faith. (Those who don’t know, lean on emotions.)
2. It stabilizes me during times of testing.
3. It enables me to handle the Bible correctly.
4. It equips me to detect and confront errors. (I keep gaining knowledge.)
5. It makes me confident in my walk.
6. It filters out my fears and superstitions.
Learn, study, and grow so you can defend your belief. Ignorance is a breeding ground for fear.
Hosea 4:6: “My people are being destroyed because they don’t know me. Since you priests refuse to know me, I refuse to recognize you as my priest. Since you have forgotten the laws of your God, I will forget to bless your children.”
Amos 8:11-13: “The time is surely coming,” says the Sovereign Lord, “when I will send a famine on the land—not a famine of bread or water but of hearing the words of the Lord. People will stagger from sea to sea and wander from border to border searching for the word of the Lord, but they will not find it. Beautiful girls and strong young men will grow faint in that day, thirsting for the Lord’s word.”
1 Timothy 4:11-13: “Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them. Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them.
