Do you have a low opinion of yourself?
Do you feel like you have made little difference for God in this world?
Do you feel like a nobody going nowhere?
I have some great news for you —
· Almighty God loves you.
· Almighty God has a plan for your life.
· You are not insignificant to God.
· He can use your life for His glory no matter how small you are in your own eyes.
You and I may seem small, but God isn’t and we need to learn to trust Him and praise Him for His greatness.
Listen to this: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Think of the potential in that promise!
A. We Should Praise our Lord for His Deity.
If you want to get a good view of Who Jesus is, read the gospel of John. Jesus Christ is God and He is an equal member of the Triune Godhead.
Our God is great, and He retains His power, character, personality, and attributes in the Person of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Trinity is implied in the first three verses of Genesis.
Genesis 1:1 speaks of God the Creator
Genesis 1:2 speaks of God the Spirit.
Genesis 1:3, along with John 1:1-3, speaks of God the Son as the Living Word.
In Genesis 1:26 we read that “God says, ‘Let us (plural) make man in our (plural) image, in our (plural) likeness …’” Then, in verse 27 we read “So God created man in his (singular) own image, male and female He (singular) created them.”
The change in the pronouns reveals the fact that God is more than One — He is three in One.
This God, our God loved us and brought us into existence so that we could have a personal, permanent, love relationship with Him. This relationship with God begins when we come to Him, through faith in Jesus Christ. Dear child of God, let’s praise Jesus Christ for His deity — He is God.
B. We should praise our LORD for His humanity.
Jesus’ mother was a young virgin named Mary. She conceived and gave birth to Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our Savior became one of us, as a little baby, born in a manger in Bethlehem. Because He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus did not have a tainted nature when He was born. In His humanity, He gave His life to atone for our sin, reconcile us to God and give us eternal life.
In Revelation 1:4-5 we read “Grace and peace to you from the One who is, who always was and who is still to come; from the sevenfold Spirit before His throne; and from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness to these things, the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all kings of the world. All glory to Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding His blood for us.”
Folks, not only has He redeemed us but according to Revelation 1:6 “He has made us a kingdom of priests for God His Father. All glory and power to Him forever and ever. Amen!”
Priests are to be servants of the LORD, faithfully ministering for the Lord to others. We have a high and holy calling.
According to Revelation 1:7 one day “He (will) come with the clouds of heaven, and everyone will see Him — even those who pierced Him …”
So, my brothers and sisters, we should praise Jesus, not only for His deity but also for His humanity. He is the Son of God and He also is the Son of Man — HE IS OUR REDEEMER!
C. We should also praise Him in the fact that He is eternal.
In revelation 1:8 we read of Him saying “I am the Alpha and the Omega – the beginning and the end,” says the LORD God. “I am the One who is, who always was, and who is still to come — the Almighty One.”
The alpha is the first and omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. We use the alphabet to share our knowledge and wisdom. Jesus is the beginning and end of the alphabet. He is the summation of all wisdom and knowledge.
What does this mean to us? Since He is all-knowing or omniscient – He has never had a new thought! He is the most significant Man in the universe and He is always thinking about me.
As I look at Revelation 1:8, I also conclude that Jesus is eternally omnipresent. He is the LORD God, who is, and who was, and who is to come.”
Jesus had always been, always is, and always will be. He is forever the same — yesterday, today, and forever. He never changes. In Philippians 2:7-8 we read — “Instead, He appeared in human form, He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow …”
Folks, Jesus is all-knowing, and He is always present with us. He is also omnipotent or all-powerful. As we read in Revelation 1:8 He said “I am the Almighty One.” He is more powerful than any problem you and I will ever face. In Ephesians 3:20 we read “Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
If you can read this meditation without praising God for His deity, His humanity, and His eternality, you might be spiritually dead. Be of good cheer – Jesus can make you spiritually alive if you will trust in Him as your Lord and Savior. Let’s all lift our hands, hearts, and voices and praise Him right now.
